the flutter of the butterfly

As one of my latest assignments I was lucky to work on a project for the new website of the Patchwork Butterfly owned by Lisa-Marie Gibbs, a talented and inspired artist and designer of beautiful things all handmade, based in Reading. These are the kind of assignments that photographers love when there is a connection, communication and understanding with the interlocutor and for the whole time I was immersed in a world full of inspiration that I aimed to capture on film.

food chain

Last weekend an interesting event took place in the town centre of Reading: Eat Reading, a programme of food, drinks and cooking events. What I found interesting was that alongside some chain names there was a strong presence of local and independent restaurants offering their food and tasters to the people attending and live demonstrations. It was a great use of the town centre space bringing the community together and in direct contact with those that often in the homogeneous sameness of the food offers of high streets of town centres offer an alternative and an option.
I thought of them as a gang, a local food gang and their mugshots were there, waiting to be taken.
